Jim Dime considers himself to be one of the cross-genre-artists, but is usually associated with Pop Art. Besides artworks, painting, graphics, editions and sculpture, he also dedicates himself to poetry. He designs sets and theatrical costumes; he also started to occupy himself with photography in the 1990s.

Jim Dime artworks and editions in artistic phases that are defined by recurrent topics. In the 1960s, the bathrobe was the continuous topic of his artworks. In this, he saw himself and abstracted the most diverse facets of his personality. During the 80s, he dedicated himself to classic art. A further cycle were his hearts, which stood for self-reflexion on the one hand, but also included fundamental questions of being human on the other hand.
