Dirk Skreber often works with a variety of materials, fluorescent colours, spray paint, enamel, and polyurethane and uses large formats. He discusses everyday things, but often dramatic sceneries such as car accidents, floods, and collapsing roofs. His style is meticulous and based on photographic templates. He reduces his subjects to the essentials, liberates them from human figures and thus prevents presenting emotions. As a result, Skreber’s artworks, paintings and editions often seem still-life like.
