The trademark of Berlin-based artist Tatjana Doll is large and often serial reproductions of everyday objects. She paints traffic signs, seat shells, cars, trucks, food packaging, vans and garbage containers in a striking style. She often uses a more or less original scale and presents the subjects like billboards. Her oversized formats are installed to match the exhibition spaces in each case. In her art, Tatjana Doll constructs and deconstructs perspective elements and works gesturally and abstractly. She creates her own pictorial living world, which realigns the viewer's gaze with the familiar. With her deliberate break with traditional iconography, she poses questions about the possibilities and limits of painting.
