Henrik Eiben is a contemporary artist born in 1975 in Japan. Today the artist lives and works in Hamburg.

Eibens works range from paintings, paper works to installations. Influenced by American minimalism and hard-edge painting, the artist’s visual vocabulary consists of reduced forms and geometric shapes. Indeed Eiben follows the design principles of reduction and thriftiness. In his artworks and editions, the artist deals intensively with color and other formal requirements. His works, however, are not based on mathematical systems but arise intuitively and always have a moment of refraction. He uses a variety of painting techniques and unconventional materials with focus on fabrics such as imitation leather or wool.

Henrik Eiben's artworks and editions have been presented in many international solo and group exhibitions and are part of many German institutional collections.
